Wood tells a story. From the annual rings and rays to the tiny pores and grain, there is much to be learned in the details. The same can be said for the growth of a passion—sometimes the rings are thick with inspiration and new ideas, while other times thin with long days and late nights. To get through both, it’s all about the roots.
The Wobbly Knob Wood Co’s roots were grown by Shaun Lambert, self-made woodworker and company founder.
In WK’s 250 reviews on Etsy, it’s clear that one of the most loved traits of Shaun’s work is it’s allowance for “imperfection” of the materials. Reclaimed wood isn’t perfect, and that’s the point. This market loves owning pieces that are the hard-to-achieve balance of unique and natural, yet refined.
This mark achieves the same goal. The loop or knot in the W represents the knots and imperfections of materials, while also alluding to the continuity of the process. Keeping the old to recreate the new. Or more simply... reclaimed.

Holy sheepadoodle! Not your standard dog breeder—Native Doodles offers a holistic and family-driven approach to breeding all kinds of doodles (Sheepadoodles, Bernadoodles, Irish Wolfadoodles…). ND needed a brand that represented their ethical standards while still appealing to their young market. They are now the number one doodle seller in Oklahoma, with a puppy from every litter donated to become a therapy dog. Their final package included a nod to the founder’s heritage and Oklahoma roots, with a modern (and dog inspired) interpretation of the Osage shield.
Created by Lily Stephens PhD, Language Matters is a boutique educational consulting firm that focuses on bringing theory to practice in areas of academic literacies, language attitudes, linguistic awareness and bilingual learning.
The brief here was to create an educational, fresh, and professional yet kid-friendly brand. The concept uses the client must-have of speech bubbles (with a twist) to create a modern Venn-diagram-inspired mark. This diagram represents the intersection of voice and the merging of languages to create a unified understanding in the student.
This project included a full branding package with an expansion of an icon set and presentation template design.
National award-winning AdoptUgly focuses on getting dogs adopted who would otherwise be left in shelters due to age, appearance, or size. This event and campaign encouraged viewers to “adopt ugly” by relating the dog’s shortcomings to our ugly (yet humorous) choices of the past. The event was founded, designed, and planned by Julia and funded by the Sappi Ideas That Matter grant (an award given to only 9 designers across the country). The event was funded $25,000 by Sappi and took place at the OKC original Famers Market. In one day alone, over 200+ dogs were adopted, with some that had been in shelters for years. This Project also received a National Professional Silver Addy Award---one of the most prestigious awards in American graphic and marketing design.

Sundone hair care needed a full renaming, branding and web package to capture both their sunny, laid-back vibe but also their roots in Incan medicine. Their hair balm is made to (s)undo hair damage with Incan Sacha Inchi oil, boasting repair and protection in one go.
The type was kept imperfect and organic, while the sun mark referenced a more concise, Incan form.
